Ukraine is developing an electronic cabinet for subsoil users

During a collaborative session between the EBA Subsoil Use Committee and Yevhen Fedorenko, the Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine, participants engaged in discussions about subsoil use reforms, key issues in the industry’s sustainable development, and the implementation of the subsoil user’s electronic cabinet.

“The Subsoil Use Committee was established less than two months ago, yet it has already achieved noteworthy results and developments. Notably, we had a meeting with Yevhen Fedorenko, the Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine, where we established the framework for further collaboration between the business sector and the Ministry. As a result, we will collaboratively address the current challenges faced by subsoil users, articulating these issues and jointly seeking solutions. As the Subsoil Use Committee, we also have the opportunity to contribute to the development of the Ministry’s strategic initiatives,” remarked Iryna Suprun, founder and CEO of the Geological Investment Group.

Iryna Suprun emphasizes the current opportunity for collaborative efforts on key issues that are becoming increasingly critical for subsoil users. “The committee, which also aims to mediate between business and government, has the potential to resolve many challenges, ” stated Iryna Suprun, founder of the Geological Investment Group.

It’s important to note that as part of the subsoil use reform, the Ministry of Ecology is prioritizing the digitalization of the licensing sector. The upcoming launch of the subsoil user’s electronic cabinet is expected to significantly reduce paperwork.

For the Ministry, the digitalization and creation of a transparent, simple, and user-friendly subsoil use system is a top priority. Therefore, plans are underway to introduce a Unified State Geographic Information System with access to 12 online databases. However, during the martial law period, not all innovations may be accessible. After its conclusion, in addition to the aforementioned resources, the Interactive Mineral Map of the Construction Group will also become available.
